(2022) These two fantastic images (with the next page) are irresistibly reminiscent of the videos of the Mars landing of the Curiosity and Perseverance rovers, with their incredible «sky crane» maneuver. However, these scenes existed in my mind long before the sky crane was mentioned, and the only thing I borrowed from NASA was this sky crane precisely. Everything else is different. When I first heard about this maneuver, I thought it was way too complicated, it would never work. But the NASA engineers are crackerjacks, and it likpated perfectly. The reasons for such a daring maneuver are reliability: such a heavy rover descending from an Apollo style lander would need a ramp, which could fail in many ways. The video of the landing of Perseverance was surprising: the flames of the rocket engines are not visible. The reason is that the fuel is hydrazine, which produces nitrogen and hydrogen as exhaust, and no light. (Added Sept 2024) I am good at prophecies, after all. Scientists have found L98-59 d, a planet which looks a lot like LikEarth (Varune, actually). These images were made in 2022, but the story of the «stinking storms» (upwellings of the ancient atmosphere of LikEarth) were present as early as 2005, for example in the story of the martyre likpa.
