Yes this page created in 2008 shows a cell phone with a full screen. We already had cell phones by the time, but with just a very small screen unconnected to the Internet, like the blue one on the right.

Be wary of all the other predictions of this story.

Some will call these scenes «post-apocalyptic». This calls for two comments:

The post-apocalyptic genre is a horror theme which emerged from the 1980's groty-punk movement. It allows to «free oneself» from organized society and morality, to give free rein to various reactionary fantasies of horrible worlds and monstrous «mutant» creatures. The reality is not so «pretty»: nuclear mutations do not produce functional creatures, just unfortunate deformed or disabled individuals, that only death will free. As of horrible worlds, another most annoying reality about nuclear power is that it only affects humans. In fact, nature does not need us to remain beautiful and flourishing, only the idiots have removed themselves off it. Well, if you are a fan of horrible worlds, I still give some samples just further on.

Another imposture is that the word «apocalypse» actually means «revelation of God». The main source is a text in the Bible called «Apocalypse of John», probably written during the first persecutions by nero (hence the number 666, which is the name of nero in Hebrew). This text therefore supposed the elimination of the wicked and the destruction of their creations (Rome). But the revelation of God is a positive fact, opening a heavenly era for the Righteous. Hence a certain imposture of using the word «apocalypse» for the destruction of Humanity and of Earth.

Warning: Drawing this image on the right arose a serious issue: normally a RFID chip intended to monitor the irradiation of the ovaries would be located much lower than the navel, in the pubis. But such a drawing could then pass for a paedophiliac image. This webcomic tickles a lot of limits, but not this one. Hence the position just below the navel, my apologies to the doctors for the lack of accuracy.

The general idea of these few images is of a great strain and suffering, hidden under pleasant and desperately everyday appearances. So the RFID chip is invisible and inactive... until the day the doctors read its records! This invisible death and these incomprehensible hazards are the price of the nuclear industry, and some regions on Earth already have radioactive patches which would justify such measures. (yes yes there are some in France) (and no no no there are no signs warning the innocent walker, while there are some in Russia). So can we imagine a world like the one of Haralik, where a hundred and more FFF «Tsar Bomba» exploded, complete with the fissile envelope. Radioactivity would lead to the extinction of the population in a few generations, and the Likpas survived only thanks to these terrible measures. Things which can still happen on Earth, as long as these weapons of madness have not been eliminated.

It has been amply proven in many occasions (some of which I have participated in) that virtual worlds are fantastic ways for people with disabilities or illnesses to have a normal social life.
