The following images of the martyrdom of the Great Likpa are violent and shocking. If you still want to view them, click here. If you do not want to see them, you can read only the summary below:
Le Grand Likpa, believing he could easily escape, actually fell into a sinister trap: everything had been planned in advance, and the terrible Black Guards are waiting for him, along with a whole bunch of materialistic sickos and fundamentalist atheists. After spouting all their pseudo-philosophy of anti-happiness intellectuals, they mutilate him, beat him, and burn him alive on a stake.
But their sick joy will be short-lived: an incomprehensible and terrible surprise awaits them... hallucinations? You will see later. And the terrified murderers take refuge in the Spooklik Inn.
This new mystery does not prevent Jude the traitor to sell the Village of Happiness to industrialists, who immediately demolish it!
The death of the Great Likpa and the loss of the Village of Happiness were the worst grief the Likpas had experienced in a long time, even those who had kept distant from the project. It turned out that many phallos regretted it too, and in any case it was a major scandal which was widely reported in the opposition press. Even the Reds (the Lixists Breastists), who yet had harshly criticized this «bourgeois village»”, talked about it for years.
In addition to the land and houses, there were also many valuable objects, which their owners claimed in court, to no avail. However, the majority of the Likpas carefully stayed out of this turmoil, terrorized as they had been for generations by the Black Guards and their repression: at that time, it was not uncommon for opponents or even for mere protesters to disappear without a trace.
But the most opaque mystery is about the Great Likpa's safe. Only two of the Twelve (the successors appointed by the Great Likpa) could have known what it contained, but they went into hiding as soon as he was arrested, leaving his house locked up. No one has seen the safe since, and in all likelihood it is still among the rubble, somewhere under the industrial zone. But no one knows exactly where, because the site had never been surveyed in detail. Some say it contained financial securities, which would be worth a fortune today... or nothing at all, due to expiration. Others say it contained a novel by the Great Likpa, of a sublime beauty. One visitor even claimed to have one day seen the chest open, revealing a strange black object of uncertain shape. Many treasure hunters have tried to find the chest, or awbosses who have secretly dug tunnels from the cellars of their factory. The Likpas, for their part, could only hope that no one else would find their treasure. Today, the Reds say that the chest and its contents will reappear in due course, and that they are best left where they are.
But let us go back to the time of this story, when newspapers were spreading strange news... while remaining thoroughly vague.
